Eat Spinach

Spinach originally comes from Asia or Persia where it grew in the wild, and has been cultivated in China for the past 2000 years. The Moors introduced spinach into Spain in the 11th century, and soon became popular for use as a bed to place entrees upon.

Today China is the world’s largest producer of spinach, and the United States the second biggest commercial producer.

Some of Spinach's Health Benefits

  • Spinach is an excellent source of vitamin K and folic acid. It’s a very good source of manganese.
  • Studies have demonstrated that diets high in dark green vegetables such as spinach are associated with a decreased risk of colon cancer. Spinach extracts have been created to be used in controlled studies, and these extracts slow down cell division in stomach cancer cells. A study has shown a high intake of spinach lowers your chances of cancer.

  • Spinach is one of the richest dietary sources of lutein, a carotenoid that has been implicated as being protective against cataracts. Zeaxanthin is another carotenoid found in spinach, and in a study at Centre for Eye Research in Australia, it was found that dietary lutein intake was associated with decreased prevalence of nuclear cataract.

Anthocyandins are compounds that are responsible for the blueberries’ pigment, and these compounds have exceptionally high antioxidant activity. In a study of 60 fruits vegetables, the antioxidant capabilities of blueberries rated the highest.
  • Cancer
Overwhelming evidence suggests that small and soft-fleshed berries such as the blueberry may have beneficial effects against several types of human cancers. The ability of the bioactive phytochemicals of berries to counteract, reduce, and repair oxidative stress damage, is responsible for the blueberries’ anticancer potential.

Ingredients To Watch Out For

There are a lot of chemicals being used in supposed natural skin care products, that are not really good for you. They are considered natural since they are derived from natural ingredients, but they are not really natural. They have some harmful side effects that have been clinically researched and proven. One ingredient that is found in many "supposed" natural skin care products is Sodium Borate. It is believed to lead to cancer, lead to developing reproductive toxicity, and organ system toxicity. A safe recommended substitute for this would be Behenyl Alcohol which pretty much does the same job. Also I would recommend using Palm Stearic Acid, Tamanu Seed oil, or Behenyl Stearic Acid instead of Stearic Acid. Over exposure to Stearic Acid may lead to cancer, and causes extreme irritation to the skin. Lastly I would suggest Vegetable Cetyl Alcohol as a substitute to Cetyl Alcohol. Cetyl alcohol in significant doses can also lead to extreme irritation of the skin.

The Past and Future of Natural Skin Care

A lot of women are taught here in the US, that oils are bad for your skin at an early age. That is why when we think of beauty products we tend to think of creams and lotions. A lot of women( and men) are starting to realize that this isn't the case. There are some oils in natural skin care products that do take a while to absorb into your skin. These are usually found in massage oils and other body oils. A majority of facial oil skincare products do not contain these types of oils. Who wants oils that just sit on the surface of your face, slowly absorbing into your skin? Nobody.
Women in Asia, the Middle East, Africa, and the Mediterranean have been using natural skin care products as a preferred means of skin treatment. Natural oils have been around since the beginning of time. When I see women in these parts of the world. I hardly ever see cases of dried out skin. When I look at some of the women in the US that use these supposed high-end cosmetics, it seems when they don't use the these artificial cosmetics their skin is about to peel off. Like everything else in our society, it seems these products we see all around, us are catered to get a certain organ of our body addicted. Fast food for our stomach, cigarettes for our lungs, and artificial cosmetics for our skin.
I personally believe that natural beauty products will dominate the market here in the near future. The trend of natural beauty, that has been widespread in other parts of the world, is now making it over to this great country of ours. More and more of these high-end cosmetics companies, are selling more natural products everytime we turn around. They're finally starting to realize, what a prized commodity natural skin care really is.

The Truth

Some of these cosmetic companies claim to have the top of the line skincare products, but a majority of the time they are selling you a bunch of falsehoods. They'll say their skincare will get rid of wrinkles in three to four weeks. They'll tell you their skincare products will turn back the age clock by ten to twenty years. They'll tell you their beauty products will make you feel eighteen again. They'll tell you that their best products have been clinically tested and proven. Lies, lies, and more lies!
Let' s be honest with ourselves. A lot of these skincare companies that are making these claims, are selling you supposed beauty products with "toxic" chemicals in them . You might see some results within a couple weeks; at best your lines and wrinkles might be smoothed out. In the long run though by using some of these companies supposed" beauty products"you're doing more harm than good. In the long run, their products will end up drying out your skin, and make your skin more chemically dependent on them.
The good cosmetic companies will tell you the facts. They won't tell you, what miracles you might want to hear, by using their products, but instead what their products are really going to do for you. The best beauty products I have seen, that actually do what they are going to say, are natural skincare lines.
